Back England Says Currie

Del Amitri lead singer Justin Currie admitted yesterday he is going to support England in the World Cup - and called on his fellow countrymen to get behind the Auld Enemy.

The band was appearing in Edinburgh to promote their new album Can You Do Me Good? when Justin said he regrets recording his country's official World Cup song in 1998, Don't Come Home Too Soon.

"That was a big mistake," he said. "I actually wrote the song for an American tour and the Scottish Football Association adopted it because they had nothing else."
