Hi...

Went to see Del at Miss. State University in Starkville, MS. Really a dull town...very small, the college is pretty lame, and the bars are even lamer. They take your DRINKS OUT OF YOUR HANDS at midnight. NOT cool.

Anyway, the concert was in an amphitheatre. That day it had rained off and on so the crowd was pretty weak -- besides that, I think most of the rednecks were angry that it wasn't a country show.

The band sounded great, in my humble opinion, though after seeing the extended set in Atlanta, was disappointed when they cut it to about eight songs. Not that what they played was BAD -- there was a variety from Waking Hours and Change Everything as well as Twisted. Some of the crowd got a little hostile when after playing the first couple songs, Justin looked out at the crowd and said, "Your f**kin' team lost today, there's almost f**kin' no one here,....and you can't drink anyway..." (dry campus, though few paid attention to this rule --we ere in the front row with some wicked concoction disguised in gatorade bottles) A few rednecks ran to the front, trying to be all tough, giving the guys the finger and yelling stuff at them til security hauled them off.

While Edwin McCain played the del tour bus sped off -- can't say I blame them -- as soon as my hangover wore off I was back to Atlanta myself. All I can say is the only thing better than a del cd is del LIVE and I can't wait til they come back to the Southeast...

I saw that they are going to be playing this bar in Ames, Iowa called People's. Its a really fun atmosphere (even though it IS only IOWA!!), and the crowds there (at least when I was in college) really appreciate great live music. I've called ahead and told some friends to watch for them there as well as in Minneapolis. I just wish I could follow...

Ok, enough rambling.

Hasta!
DML
